SALSA

Introduction

The Smart Application for Supply, Logistics, and Aid (SALSA) proposes to automate the process of creating and deploying smart contracts for an organization of any size without the need for additional technical staff. Where smart contracts have been identified to add value to processes and interactions between either internal or external parties, SALSA’s RESTful API will allow organizations to access blockchain functionality without the need to rely upon specialized knowledge or additional software.

Description

The Smart Application for Supply, Logistics, and Aid (SALSA) intends to provide a cost-effective and simplified gateway to the Ethereum network for organizations in need of blockchain-based solutions for supply chain, vendor management, or aid distribution applications, among many other potential uses for the technology within the aid and development sectors. In an effort to increase the accessibility of blockchain and reduce costs associated with its implementation, SALSA was devised as a software solution to provide a bridge between client organizations and the potential afforded by the Ethereum blockchain. Simply put, SALSA’s value proposition is that we have done the work of creating modular and scalable implementations of blockchain technology that are tailor-made to suit the needs of our client organizations: by accessing our RESTful API and/or contracting SALSA as a Service to manage additional systems needs, any organization can move processes onto the blockchain without taking on the additional overhead and costs associated with adopting this new technology.

System Integration
Any process that can find some value in the integration of smart contracts and blockchain technology can be easily designed, or existing systems quickly updated, through the use of SALSA’s RESTful API. Web interfaces, enterprise software systems, and even mobile and tablet applications can easily incorporate functionality that relies on the Ethereum blockchain without the need to train IT and development staff on the use of any new technology or software. The bare minimum to get started with SALSA right away is an API key and system documentation (LINK) and a monthly user account subscription for each authorized user. Additional services are available to assist with systems integration, as noted below How organizations can use SALSA As a modular and flexible solution to blockchain systems integration, organizations can interact with existing contracts deployed to the Ethereum blockchain and also work with SALSA’s development team to devise Solidity contract templates that can be deployed through SALSA when required to facilitate various organizational processes.
